Wednesday Folders 9/24/ 08

I orginally said I wouldn't be sending home Wednesday folders, but Ms. Melville has work to send home. So the blue folders will be coming home this Wednesday.

Progress Reports have changed from this Wednesday, 9/24/08 to next Wednesday 10/1/08.

Wednesday Folders

I finally had my first visit to my classroom since I left on Open House evening. Thank you for all the Wednesday folders that came back so quickly on Thursday 9/11. I did notice that some parents sent back the purple half sheet without the graded work attached. Please make sure to send back the entire packet which consist of the graded work and the purple half sheet. I need both for my files. All graded work will go back with you child at the end of the nine weeks. So eventually all the graded work will become yours, if desired.

Hurricane Ike

I hope everyone is finding comfort and safety after Hurricane Ike. I was luckily in the hospital for the whole thing. But I did have the opportunity to come home on Monday to no power or running water. So thanks to a friend, my husband, my dog and I packed up and went over there for the night. Everything was restored by Tuesday evening. It was nice to get home, but very overhwleming to clean up after my husband. It seriously looked like the hurricane had hit the inside of our home.

I know everyone is looking forward to getting back to school and I am glad to hear Briargrove held up. I will be back soon, due to doctor's orders I am taking an extra week off. I will be returning as of right now Monday, September 29th. I appreciate everyone's support and good wishes.

Library Schedule

Library for our class will be on Wednesday mornings at 9:00. Library is no longer part of the enrichment schedule, I will be taking the class each week. I will make sure your child is checking out books that our reading level appropriate for them. I do require they at least get 1 chapter book, the second book can be one of their choice.

Tuesday, September 2, 2008: Complete Sunshine Math problems during the week. Complete "In the Garden" worksheet on place value.

Wednesday, September 3, 2008: Complete sunshine Math problems during the week. Complete "Less and More" worksheet and "Bowling Along" worksheet. Wednesday folder goes home today to be signed.

Thursday, September 4, 2008: Complete "Name the Continents and Oceans" worksheets. Wednesday folder is due back today signed.

Friday, September 5, 2008: Homework packet is due today.
